move at light speed

quick quick quickie post because I updated the sidebar to the blog, something I've been meaning to do since realizing that, well, it's the thing you do with blogs. Anyway. Good thing my rudimentary knowledge of html has held up lo these many years so that you can now see what I'm listening to, courtesy of last.fm/audioscrobbler (three cheers to having cross-platform support! I forgot to download the plugin on my new mac, hence the many-months-long interim between updates), as well as a bunch of links and stuff. If you have a blog and I don't have it listed, feel free to yell at me and I'll add it. Too bad I read my blogs through a blogreading program and don't actually visit the blog's website, so I'm not sure whether anyone will care about this or not. But, it's there. yay. Back to work.

yeah, last.fm was acting up last night. It's working now.

I have your entries about halfway down the page. The sidebar is fine, but the right side is blank until the sidebar ends. Then the left side is blank, with the entries on the right.

That might be my PC as much as anything else... I'm not sure why, but it doesn't seem to like me very much.

weird. I just checked the page out in Firefox, and it looks fine; I use Safari, and it's working there. I would chalk it up to your PC, but then, I haven't checked it on IE, so maybe that's the trouble. Strange.

Hey, I didn't realize you had a blog! I'm so out of the loop of the livejournal crowd. Jaci was nagging me about that just the other day, actually...

I really need to at lease try Firefox sometime. I use IE and I hear it sucks, but it does what I need it to do. I find myself getting bored with the internet as I age, and I don't think a new browser is going to change that.

Page looks fine today. Weird. In a good way, but weird.

I recommend trying Firefox, but I'm hesitant to vouch for it without at least warning you that it's not the most stable browser: if your computer is prone to freezing up so you have to shut it down without logging out of your programs, you might lose all your bookmarks (as happened to me on my old laptop). But as long as you're careful about always shutting down your computer the right way and backing up your bookmarks (as I wasn't), Firefox can be great--it's highly customizeable, but I primarily loved the tabbed browsing capabilities. Safari has that too, though, and is more streamlined in general, so I'm sticking with it.

I wish the Internet were losing its attractiveness to me as I get older... *sighs heavily and gets back to work, which does NOT include reading TWoP or WOXY forums, no sirree*

I really need to see it, because 'tabbed browsing' and 'customization' are the features everyone cites for switching. Well, those and the ubiquitous 'IE sucks.' But 'tabbed browsing' means nothing to me and 'customization' sounds cool, I may have already found other methods of compensation.

My PC problems are monitor related. The drivers disc for my flat panel broke, and I can't get the resolution I want. I'm pretty sure the sidebar issue is due to longer artists/song titles on your recently played list. I meant to buy a new monitor last month anyway... this 1024x768 garbage hurts my eyes.
